My Story

I had a college education but I felt like I was working in a factory on an assembly line.  There was no union to protect my interest and I was regularly expected to work over-time without any extra pay — because I was “salaried.”  Even though I was working harder and harder, and the time on the clock kept rising and rising, my paycheck stayed the same.

Just out of college, with a B.S. in Finance on my resume, I took a job on the prestigious Chicago Board Options Exchange.  I was right there!  Being on the trading floor, surrounded by frenzied, open-outcry traders flashing hand signals across the giant OEX pit – Oh, so exciting!

The only thing that seemed to be climbing was my impatience and frustration.  It was time for a change. The direction I was going was not taking me into the life I wanted to live.  I’d had such a bright start!
